How do we help?
Chair exercises
Chair exercises
Once a week, a qualified instructor teaches seniors how to maintain joint mobility through gentle chair exercises, which are important for maintaining autonomy. Courses are also open to seniors with reduced mobility.
Tablet courses
Tablet courses
Seniors can take a beginner’s course on using tablets and basic internet applications (Google searches, email, YouTube, Facebook, etc.) to gain better access to these technologies. Courses are given based on the number of registered participants.

Monday to Thursday from 9:30am to 5:00pm, CRAIC’s staff are available to answer requests and provide guidance and information.(Government & Community Services available for seniors)
Bonjour CRAIC Friendship Line
Bonjour CRAIC Friendship Line
Every day, CRAIC volunteers make hundreds of friendship and safety calls to seniors to provide the comfort of a friendly voice and break isolation. This service is crucial, in particular for seniors who have to stay at home for health reasons or because of a loss of autonomy.

Midi Express meals on wheels (hot meals delivery)
Every Wednesday from 11:30am to 2:30pm, a team of CRAIC volunteers delivers hot meals to seniors with reduced autonomy and who are registered for this service. Meals consist of a pasta dish, main dish with a side of baked potato and sautéed vegetables, small loaf of bread and, occasionally, a piece of cake. A traditional meal is being planned for Christmas and Easter.

“Marisa’s Lunch”
“Marisa’s Lunch” weekly for seniors living in isolation.
Every Tuesday at 12:00pm, CRAIC holds a community lunch for seniors living alone and at risk of isolation. The lunch helps to relieve loneliness, providing a cheerful atmosphere and opportunity to try typical Italian cuisine (transport is provided on request and based on availability).
Group excursions and trips
Group excursions and trips
Occasionally, CRAIC organizes group outings and trips for its members. Outings and trips vary in duration and prices are modest. These activities provide seniors with an opportunity to travel safely with CRAIC’s staff.
Bocce and pétanque tournament
Bocce and pétanque tournament
Throughout the summer, CRAIC’s Golden Age Clubs meet to play the traditional Italian game of bocce and have even reached the professional and competitive levels.
Mini-Olympics
Mini-Olympics
Every summer from the first week of June until the end of September, the Active Living Committee organizes a series of outdoor sports activities to promote the well-being of our seniors. Activities take place Tuesday mornings at Jarry Park. The Mini-Olympics provide a great opportunity to enjoy the good weather and have fun together.
Italian conversation
Italian conversation
Once a week, seniors can learn, improve and practice Italian in a class led by a native Italian speaker. Courses are given based on the number of registered participants.
